Akshardham Temple in Delhi situated on the bank of river Yamuna attracts 70 percent of tourists visiting Delhi. The design of the temple is being developed by Pramukh Swami Maharaj. The complete temple is carved out from one single stone. The temple depicts the life history and events from the life of Swaminarayan and the history of India.

The murti is made up of five metals also known as paanch dhaatu. The central temple also consists of idols of Hindu gods and Goddesses. The temple is an attraction of art and culture. The theatre named NeelKanth Kalyan is the Delhi’s only large format screen theatre. The theatre showcases a special movie called neelkanth yatra which reveals the story of 7 years of the pilgrimage of Swaminarayan. The musical fountain is a big attraction of this temple. The evening marks the beginning of this musical fountain. The temple is surrounded by lush green gardens. While the garden of India also known as Bharat Upavana has trees, shrubs, and lawns across. The garden is surrounded by lush green herbs and shrubs. The bronze statues of dignities from Indian history surround the gardens.

Ten doors

There are 10 gates in the Akshardham temple, which face 10 directions according to Vedic literature. These gate representations include architecture, dance, music, and literature among other aspects from ancient times.

Number of artisans

It took only 5 years to complete the temple, in which there were 11,000 artisans and innumerable volunteers who helped complete the construction.
